a great weekend

This is a great weekend in Macomb. The streets are busy with new and returning students. For a few hours Adams Street is closed for move-in to Linc/Wash, our neighbors have moved in, and the Student Center is set to welcome students. Things are buzzing, and I'm excited.

Looking ahead to this semester's campus and congregational ministry, I'm pondering this verse: "For the message of the Cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God." 1 Corinthians 1:18 We'll gather around -- and proclaim -- that Cross for the salvation of all sinners.

Welcome, students. This will be great semester.

Faith toward God. Love toward neighbor.

The video below is a good example of living out your vocation in loving service to others.

God doesn't need your good works.
Your neighbor does.
